Hundreds of classified documents obtained by the IDF and Shin Bet reveal a covert Hamas currency exchange network operating deep inside Turkey—exposing yet another layer of the terror group’s global infrastructure backed directly by Iran. The intelligence points to a sophisticated financial pipeline run by Gaza-born operatives who exploit Turkish territory to bankroll violent attacks on Israel.
According to IDF Arabic Spokesman Avichay Adraee, the entire operation functions under the direct orders of the Iranian regime. These Hamas-linked money changers, many of whom relocated from Gaza, manage the movement of illicit funds earmarked for terror operations, weapons procurement, and the personal enrichment of Hamas leaders—all while Gaza civilians bear the consequences of Hamas’s destructive rule.
Documents revealed that millions of dollars flow through this Turkish-based network, coordinated meticulously with Tehran’s Revolutionary Guard. The exposed files represent only a fraction of the total transfers, amounting to a few hundred thousand dollars captured in documentation, but intelligence officials stress the true scale is far larger and more alarming.
The investigation also identified key operatives driving the network:
• Tamer Hassan — Senior Hamas Finance Ministry official based in Turkey, operating under arch-terrorist Khalil al-Hayya.
• Khalil Fraoneh — Money exchanger embedded in the Iranian-backed system.
• Farid Abu Dayer — Financial operative aiding fund transfers to Hamas leadership.
Their duties include receiving, storing, and routing Iranian money directly into Hamas command channels—effectively enabling the terror organization to rebuild and rearm despite the devastation it brought upon Gaza.
Adraee emphasized that Hamas, emboldened by Iranian financing and protected by permissive Turkish territory, continues plotting attacks against Israel while ignoring the suffering of its own population. Even after dragging Gaza into ruin, Hamas remains focused solely on expanding its terror capabilities far beyond the Strip’s borders, proving once again that Palestinian leadership prioritizes violence over the wellbeing of its people.
