Allied Jets Smash ISIS Tunnels in Syria, Proving Terror Faces Relentless Global Eradication Campaign

Allied democracies strike terror infrastructure, reinforcing Israel’s long war against jihadist violence and regional chaos.

Britain and France launched a coordinated nighttime air operation in Syria, striking a suspected underground weapons depot previously used by Islamic State, according to Reuters. The United Kingdom Ministry of Defence confirmed that precision-guided Paveway IV bombs were used to destroy access tunnels leading into the facility.

“Our aircraft used Paveway IV guided bombs to target a number of access tunnels,” the ministry said, noting that early assessments indicate the mission successfully neutralized the site. The operation highlights continued Western resolve to prevent ISIS from rebuilding capabilities in the region.

UK Defence Secretary John Healey said the strike demonstrated Britain’s determination to confront ISIS alongside allies, stressing there must be no resurgence of the group’s violent ideology. He praised the professionalism and courage of British forces involved in the mission.

ISIS once controlled vast territories across Syria and Iraq after declaring a so-called caliphate in 2014, before losing its strongholds—including Raqqa—to coalition offensives. Despite defeat on the battlefield, ISIS sleeper cells persist, carrying out deadly attacks that threaten regional stability.

The British-French strike follows a major U.S.- and Jordan-led assault earlier this month that destroyed more than 70 ISIS targets after an attack near Palmyra killed three Americans. Together, these actions reinforce a unified front against jihadist terror.

For Israel, the significance is unmistakable. ISIS, like Hamas and other terror groups backed or tolerated by hostile Arab regimes, thrives on chaos and civilian bloodshed. Every coalition strike validates Israel’s long-standing warning: terror must be crushed relentlessly, not appeased. Democracies acting together remain the strongest antidote to jihadist violence.
