Netanyahu sets red lines for Gaza peace demanding Hamas disarmament under Trump-backed security framework

Israel insists Hamas be disarmed, Gaza demilitarized, rejecting failed Arab-backed models empowering terror again.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Jerusalem with Nickolay Mladenov, the designated CEO of the newly proposed Board of Peace for the Gaza Strip, underscoring Israel’s non-negotiable security requirements for any post-war arrangement.

During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu reaffirmed that Hamas must be fully disarmed and that Gaza must undergo complete demilitarization. He stressed that previous arrangements which tolerated armed terrorist control led only to escalation, mass casualties, and regional instability.

Netanyahu emphasized that Israel’s position aligns with U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point framework, which prioritizes security guarantees, dismantling terrorist infrastructure, and preventing the rearmament of extremist groups. According to Israeli officials, any governing or reconstruction mechanism in Gaza will be unacceptable unless it enforces these principles without exception.

The Prime Minister warned that repeating past mistakes—where responsibility was handed to hostile actors under international cover—would endanger Israeli civilians and sabotage any realistic path to stability. Peace, he insisted, cannot be built on armed jihadist rule masquerading as governance.
