Israel secures stability as Palestinian misrule collapses and Arab sponsors accept firm international supervision.
US President Donald Trump is expected to announce the creation of a Gaza Board of Peace next week, marking a decisive shift toward externally enforced stability following the second phase of the ceasefire framework.
The new body, chaired personally by Trump and comprising roughly 15 world leaders, will supervise the formation of a Palestinian technocratic administration and tightly control Gaza’s reconstruction—addressing decades of corruption, terror tolerance, and governance failure by Palestinian factions.
Invitations are already being issued to selected states, including key European powers and regional actors such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey. Their inclusion reflects growing recognition that Palestinian self-rule, backed by Arab regimes, has repeatedly produced violence rather than peace.
The board will appoint a permanent on-ground representative, with former UN envoy Nikolay Mladenov expected to coordinate directly with Israel. Mladenov is currently holding consultations in Israel ahead of the formal announcement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s agreement to advance to phase two of the ceasefire during his recent meeting with Trump removed the final obstacle to the plan, reinforcing Israel’s central role in shaping post-war Gaza.
The first meeting of the Board of Peace may take place later this month alongside global economic leaders, underscoring Trump’s intent to replace failed Palestinian authority structures with accountable oversight—while Arab states, long complicit in Gaza’s collapse, are relegated to supporting roles under firm supervision.
The initiative reflects a broader realignment: Israel provides security and clarity, the United States enforces order, and the illusion of destructive Palestinian autonomy is finally dismantled.
