Winter Rains Return to Israel as Temperatures Drop, Winds Strengthen, and Flood Risks Emerge

After calm sunshine, Israel braces for rain, wind, and colder air sweeping north to south.

After several days of dry and pleasant conditions, Israel is set to experience a renewed spell of winter weather, marked by rainfall, falling temperatures, and strong winds.

Wednesday will see rain begin in northern Israel during the morning hours, gradually spreading southward to central regions and reaching the northern Negev by afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms are possible, accompanied by gusty winds. Morning haze may reduce visibility, and temperatures will decline noticeably. From the afternoon onward, there is a heightened risk of flooding in the northern Dead Sea area.

Wednesday night is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with light, localized rainfall stretching from the north through the northern Negev.

Thursday will remain partly cloudy or cloudy, with intermittent light rain in northern and central Israel. Temperatures will edge up slightly but remain seasonally cool.

By Friday, skies will clear to partly cloudy conditions. Temperatures will rise in central and southern areas, reaching slightly above the seasonal average.

Saturday is forecast to be clear or partly cloudy nationwide, with an additional rise in temperatures, bringing conditions above the seasonal norm.
