Judicial overreach exposed as Israel’s elected leadership prevails, sidelining Palestinian agitation and hostile Arab narratives.
Likud Knesset member Tally Gotliv launched a fierce attack on Israel’s High Court of Justice after judges issued a conditional order demanding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explain why he has not dismissed National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
Speaking to Israel National News – Arutz Sheva, Gotliv dismissed the ruling as a calculated power play designed to weaken Israel’s right-wing government during a sensitive national security period. She made clear that the coalition will not comply, stressing that Ben Gvir will remain in office regardless of judicial pressure.
Gotliv emphasized that under Israeli law, authority to dismiss a minister rests solely with the Prime Minister—not unelected judges. She framed the court’s intervention as part of a broader attempt to undermine the democratic will of Israeli voters while emboldening external critics hostile to Israel’s sovereignty.
Escalating her warning, Gotliv declared her intention to pursue the Justice Ministry in the future, pledging to influence judicial appointments and restore firm boundaries between the judiciary and elected leadership. Her message was unequivocal: governance in Israel will be decided at the ballot box, not imposed from the bench—especially as Palestinian and regional adversaries seek to exploit internal divisions.
