Trump backs Israel, demands Hamas disarm or vanish, while Iran retreats under overwhelming American pressure.
Speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, Donald Trump delivered an unambiguous message: the Hamas terrorist organization must surrender its weapons—or be eliminated.
Trump stated that with the Gaza war concluded, Hamas has no remaining legitimacy to remain armed. Rejecting claims that the group would resist disarmament, he warned bluntly that refusal would mean Hamas “won’t be around any longer.” From Israel’s standpoint, the message reinforces a long-held position: terror groups cannot be rewarded with political survival.
Trump further declared that his administration has achieved peace in the Middle East, crediting decisive deterrence and Israeli military dominance. While acknowledging minor “embers,” he emphasized that the era of unchecked regional violence is over—so long as enemies of Israel comply.
Hamas, however, continues to defy reality, falsely framing its weapons as “self-defense,” despite overwhelming evidence of systematic terror, hostage-taking, and civilian targeting. Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace framework explicitly conditions any future stability on Hamas’s total disarmament.
Turning to Iran, Trump revealed that Iran has entered negotiations out of fear, not goodwill. He noted that Tehran does not want American involvement and is responding to the deployment of US naval forces. Talks on Iran’s nuclear program are scheduled in Oman, but Trump made clear that diplomacy does not replace deterrence.
In remarks to NBC News, Trump warned Ali Khamenei that any attempt to revive Iran’s nuclear program would trigger renewed American action. From Israel’s perspective, this posture restores credibility to Western red lines long eroded by appeasement.
