Court Drama Erupts As Netanyahu Chief Of Staff Faces Extended Restrictions In Explosive Probe

Investigators warn of interference risks while defense claims political maneuvering blocks diplomatic appointment.

A hearing is underway at the Magistrate’s Court in Rishon Lezion regarding the possible extension of restrictive conditions imposed on Tzachi Braverman, chief of staff to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

During proceedings, a police representative told the court that Braverman is expected to undergo additional questioning and that further investigative steps remain pending. Authorities are also awaiting a district court ruling on whether raw materials from an interview with Eli Feldstein will be released for review.

Police Argument

Investigators stressed that extending the restrictive conditions is necessary to prevent possible interference and ensure the probe advances swiftly.

“We fear interference,” the police representative stated, raising concerns about Braverman’s continued presence in a public role during the investigation.

Defense Pushback

Braverman’s attorney — who is slated to serve as Israel’s ambassador to the United Kingdom — argued that the timing of the hearing appears designed to obstruct that appointment.

According to the defense, no substantive claim has been presented that would justify preventing Braverman’s departure from the country. The attorney questioned the logic of delaying his diplomatic post if there is no proven risk of obstruction.
