Netanyahu Arrives Washington As Trump Signals Military Buildup Amid High-Stakes Iran Talks.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu landed in Washington Tuesday evening ahead of a pivotal White House meeting with US President Donald Trump focused primarily on the Iranian threat.
Shortly after arrival, Netanyahu met at Blair House with Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The envoys briefed him on the first round of indirect talks recently held with Iran.
The Netanyahu-Trump meeting, scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Washington time, marks their seventh encounter since Trump began his second term and their sixth at the White House.
In media interviews, Trump stated he believes Tehran wants a deal regarding its nuclear and ballistic missile programs but warned it would be “foolish” not to reach one.
“We have a massive flotilla right now going over to Iran… maybe another one on the way,” Trump said, signaling continued US military reinforcement in the Gulf.
He emphasized preference for diplomacy but reiterated readiness for force if negotiations collapse, referencing prior military action. According to Trump, Netanyahu is not pressured by the talks but seeks a “good deal” that neutralizes Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities.
