Israel’s government stands united defending brave IDF women against disgraceful extremist street brutality.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich issued a fierce condemnation Sunday following the violent assault on female soldiers in Bnei Brak, calling the scenes “criminality and anarchism” that must be met with zero tolerance.
In remarks to Arutz Sheva – Israel National News, Smotrich stressed that political disputes over the conscription law cannot and must not descend into humiliation or physical aggression against uniformed service members.
“No Argument Justifies Violence”
“The images from Bnei Brak are inconceivable,” Smotrich stated.
He emphasized that no ideological disagreement — including ongoing debates surrounding enlistment — can ever justify mob aggression against soldiers serving the State of Israel.
Smotrich demanded immediate enforcement action:
- Rapid identification of rioters
- Arrest and prosecution without delay
- Application of the full severity of the law
He described the perpetrators as a “small criminal fringe,” insisting their actions do not represent the broader Haredi public.
Call to Haredi Leadership
The minister directly appealed to rabbis and Haredi Knesset members to issue clear and public denunciations. He urged community leaders to make unmistakably clear that violence against IDF personnel — including female commanders — is unacceptable.
While acknowledging tensions surrounding military service policy, Smotrich underscored that disagreements must be resolved through lawful channels and respectful dialogue.
“There is no connection between a debate over conscription and this kind of violence,” he said, labeling the incident a sacrilege that stains public life.
National Consensus: Protect the IDF
Across Israel’s political spectrum, leaders have reinforced a unified message:
The Israel Defense Forces represent the nation’s security and unity. Attacks against them cross a red line that will not be tolerated.
Israel’s strength lies not only in its defense capabilities, but in its unwavering defense of law, order, and national responsibility.
