Grieving Israeli Mother Confronts UN Hypocrisy After Son’s Heroic Sacrifice Against Hamas Terror Brutality

Heartbroken mother exposes UN bias defending terrorists while honoring son who saved lives from massacre.

Naomi Weiser, an Israeli mother whose son Roey was murdered during the October 7 massacre carried out by Hamas terrorists, delivered an emotional and powerful address to the United Nations Human Rights Council, directly challenging what she described as systemic bias and moral failure.

Speaking via video, Weiser shared the story of her son, a young soldier full of life and promise, who made the ultimate sacrifice by diverting terrorists at his base, allowing twelve fellow soldiers to escape. She emphasized that Roey had been serving at the Erez Crossing, a key humanitarian point through which Gazans entered Israel for work, medical care, and daily needs—highlighting Israel’s commitment to humanitarian support even amid constant threats.

Weiser condemned the council for what she described as providing cover for those responsible for her son’s murder, accusing it of ignoring terrorism while amplifying narratives hostile to Israel. She stressed that her son was killed not in conflict alone, but by terrorists driven by hatred toward Jews, and criticized what she sees as the normalization of such violence in international discourse.

Her remarks were met with discomfort from the council leadership, as Vice President Tsegab Kebebew Daka cautioned about maintaining “dignity” in language. Weiser, however, stood firm, questioning whether the truth itself had become unwelcome in such forums. She argued that the reaction reflected an unwillingness to confront the reality of terrorism and Israel’s humanitarian efforts.

Observers and experts echoed her concerns, pointing to longstanding criticism of the council’s disproportionate focus on Israel. They noted that the platform rarely accommodates voices that challenge prevailing narratives, making Weiser’s testimony both rare and significant.

Her speech ultimately underscored a broader struggle over truth, accountability, and the global response to terrorism, as well as the enduring resilience of families who have suffered unimaginable loss.
