Israel Politics Shifts Right As Pro Security Parties Gain Strength While Opposition Faces Fragmentation Crisis

Pro Israel voters rally behind security focused leadership as fragmented opposition struggles to form stable government.

A new survey by the Lazar Research Institute signals a clear shift in Israel’s political landscape, with right-leaning and security-focused parties gaining momentum while centrist and left-wing factions continue to weaken. The data reflects growing public support for leadership that prioritizes national security amid ongoing regional threats.

According to the poll, the Likud party remains the largest with 26 seats, followed closely by Naftali Bennett’s party at 21. Gadi Eisenkot’s emerging “Yashar!” party secures a notable 13 seats, while Otzma Yehudit strengthens its position with 9 seats, signaling increased backing for firm policies on security and governance.

In contrast, Yesh Atid sees a decline, dropping to 7 seats, reflecting voter dissatisfaction and a shift away from centrist approaches perceived as less effective in addressing current challenges. Several smaller parties, including Blue and White and the Religious Zionist faction, fail to cross the electoral threshold, further illustrating consolidation toward stronger blocs.

A potential joint run between Bennett and Eisenkot dramatically reshapes the map, emerging as the largest political force with over 30 seats. However, despite these shifts, the overall bloc balance remains unchanged, leaving the opposition unable to form a government without reliance on Arab parties—an option that continues to face resistance among significant segments of the electorate.

The findings underscore a broader trend: Israeli voters are increasingly aligning with parties that emphasize security, stability, and a firm stance against external threats. As political fragmentation persists on the opposing side, the pro-Israel, security-first bloc continues to consolidate influence in a volatile regional environment.
