A senior Iranian security source issued a sharp response to US President Donald Trump’s latest ultimatum, attempting to portray strength while mounting pressure from coordinated US-Israel actions continues to erode the regime’s strategic position.
The Iranian official claimed that recent military developments represented a failure for Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, arguing that Washington’s increasingly aggressive rhetoric reflects a loss of control over the conflict. However, the statement came amid sustained Israeli strikes targeting critical military, economic, and command infrastructure across Iran.
Tehran also reiterated its position regarding the Strait of Hormuz, warning that it would not return to normal operations unless the war ends on its own terms. The source suggested that even in the event of a ceasefire, reopening the strategic waterway would depend on strict conditions and guarantees, underscoring Iran’s attempt to leverage one of its few remaining pressure points.
