Push for Israeli Sovereignty in Judea and Samaria Gains Urgency as Top Officials Summoned to Strategic Knesset Discussion

In a bold political maneuver, senior officials from multiple ministries have been summoned to present actionable steps toward applying full Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. MK Tzvi Succot calls it a historic opportunity to determine Israel’s future—and demands swift implementation.

An extraordinary session has been scheduled next week in the Knesset’s Subcommittee for Foreign Affairs and Defense on Judea and Samaria, where representatives from the Defense Ministry, IDF, Justice Ministry, and Settlement Ministry will be summoned to outline the real-world implications of applying Israeli sovereignty in the region.

The discussion—convened by Subcommittee Chair MK Tzvi Succot—is set to move the sovereignty agenda from political rhetoric to practical execution. It marks a significant escalation in efforts to assert full Israeli control over Judea and Samaria, and reflects a growing coalition push to act decisively.

“This moment will define the future of the State of Israel,” said MK Succot, emphasizing the urgency. “The opportunity is before us—we must not let it slip away. Sovereignty over Judea and Samaria will, God willing, secure not just this region but the destiny of Israel itself.”

This meeting follows a coordinated statement earlier this month from all Likud ministers and the Speaker of the Knesset, urging the government to pass a decision applying sovereignty before the end of the current Knesset session. Their appeal came just ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s planned diplomatic meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.

“We, ministers and members of Knesset, call for the immediate application of Israeli sovereignty and law over Judea and Samaria,” the statement read. “Now is the time to act.”

The declaration frames sovereignty as the final step in a broader strategic campaign, citing Prime Minister Netanyahu’s efforts in countering Iran and its regional proxies. “It is time to complete the mission—remove the existential threat within, and ensure that tragedies like previous massacres never happen again at the heart of our homeland,” the ministers added.

As pressure mounts in Jerusalem, next week’s meeting is expected to become a flashpoint in Israel’s evolving national security and territorial policy—one that could have long-lasting regional and international implications.
