MK Ariel Kallner leads a renewed political drive to apply Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, calling it a historic opportunity the nation cannot afford to miss.
A special Knesset conference dedicated to advancing Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria will convene Monday, with MK Ariel Kallner (Likud) playing a pivotal organizing role. The event aims to galvanize political support and momentum around a move that proponents say is long overdue.
“We are calling on the Prime Minister and the government—now is the time for sovereignty,” Kallner told Arutz Sheva–Israel National News. “Our enemies seek to uproot us, but we will speak of sovereignty. This is a moment of national destiny.”
Kallner emphasized that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports the initiative, and suggested that conditions are more favorable than ever—both domestically and internationally. “We were close to implementing sovereignty in the past, but it was blocked. Today, the opportunity is greater, and the United States is likely to be supportive,” he claimed.
Describing the broader stakes, Kallner stated: “We are at a crossroads. Either we assert sovereignty, or we once again face pressure to establish a Palestinian state—a vision born of falsehood and rooted in destructive ideology.”
He acknowledged potential disagreements over the method but maintained that the direction is clear: “We’ve waited long enough. The groundwork must begin now. History will not forgive us if we fail to act.”
On speculation about early elections, Kallner dismissed the notion. “I don’t believe elections are imminent. The current coalition can overcome internal tensions. The alternative—a left-wing government—would shelve the sovereignty agenda entirely.”
Kallner also addressed the ongoing debate surrounding the Draft Law and ultra-Orthodox enlistment: “Sanctions won’t increase enlistment. They’ll only deepen division. The haredi community must recognize the importance of this moment for the nation as a whole.”
Responding to MK Moshe Gafni’s recent criticism of the religious Zionist movement, Kallner said: “His remarks were regrettable. Many in our camp combine Torah, service, and sacrifice. The faith-based bloc must remain united to preserve our shared values and national strength.”
He concluded with a warning against political complacency: “We face relentless campaigns—backed by billions—to dismantle our nationalist-religious base. We cannot falter now or hand victory to progressive forces, either in Israel or abroad.”
