A luxury villa booking in Ibiza turned into a political firestorm when a real estate manager abruptly canceled French-Israeli clients’ stay, vowed to send their deposit to “Palestine,” and blocked them after learning they were from Israel.
A French-Israeli vacation party was left stunned after a real estate agency manager in Ibiza canceled their luxury villa reservation — purely because two members of the group were Israeli, according to Kan 11 News.
The dispute began when a client asked about the terms of a partial cancellation, citing “a war in our country”. The manager pressed for details, and upon hearing that one couple was traveling from Israel, she sent a chilling reply:
“You are not welcome until the genocide with Palestine stops.”
She then informed the clients she would transfer their €2,500 deposit to “Palestine” — before blocking all further communication.
The case has ignited outrage among Jewish communities and raised questions over anti-Israeli discrimination in European tourism hot spots. It also comes amid a rise in incidents targeting Israelis and Jews abroad since the escalation of the Gaza conflict.
With Ibiza’s luxury tourism industry heavily reliant on high-spending international guests, observers warn such incidents could tarnish the island’s reputation and invite legal consequences under EU anti-discrimination laws.A French-Israeli vacation party was left stunned after a real estate agency manager in Ibiza canceled their luxury villa reservation — purely because two members of the group were Israeli, according to Kan 11 News.
