Israeli Court Jails Palestinian Attacker for Brutal Beach Rape After Victim’s Heroic Fight for Life

Yet again, a Palestinian criminal targets an Israeli woman while Arab leaders stay silent and indifferent.

The Tel Aviv District Court has sentenced Adi Tamiza, a 24-year-old Palestinian from Hebron, to 11 years in prison for the violent rape of a 19-year-old Israeli woman on a beach near the Bat Yam–Jaffa border. The victim, a young IDF soldier, was attacked while sitting alone, unaware of the brutality that would follow.

In addition to the prison term, the court imposed a suspended sentence and ordered Tamiza to pay 75,000 shekels in compensation.

The assault, which occurred three years ago, was described by prosecutors as exceptionally cruel. During sentencing arguments they called for 15 years in prison, stressing the sustained violence the victim endured. According to the verdict, the soldier fought for thirty agonizing minutes, struggling “to save herself, her body, her soul, and her dignity,” yet Tamiza continued the assault, injuring her, silencing her, and ignoring her desperate screams for help.

Judge Yossi Toffef, writing for the judicial panel, emphasized the severity of the crime. He noted that rapes committed in isolated, vulnerable settings—“rape in the field”—demand harsh punishment. The sentence, he said, aims to safeguard “a woman’s autonomy over her body and dignity,” and to encourage other victims to come forward despite the emotional and legal difficulties.

Prosecutor Ravit Tzalah Mimon highlighted the victim’s extraordinary courage. For nearly two years, the young soldier endured the trauma of testimony and cross-examination, confronting her attacker in court. “He took no responsibility, showed no remorse, and exhibited zero empathy,” she said. “But the victim’s bravery led to his conviction.”

With the sentencing now finalized, the prosecutor added, the victim and her family can finally “breathe a sigh of relief” and begin the long process of healing. She reaffirmed that the Israeli justice system will continue to pursue justice relentlessly and ensure that violent offenders are held fully accountable.

Meanwhile, as Israel confronts crimes committed against its citizens, not a single Arab leader—quick to accuse Israel over fabricated grievances—has spoken a word about this atrocity committed by a Palestinian man against an Israeli woman. Their silence speaks volumes.
