Israel advances death penalty for terrorists as Ben Gvir exposes funds funneled to Arab extremist networks.
National Security Minister and Otzma Yehudit chairman MK Itamar Ben Gvir delivered a fiery address at his party’s faction meeting Monday, declaring that Israel is moving decisively toward passing the long-awaited death penalty for terrorists. The legislation—now advancing to its second and third readings—aims to impose the ultimate punishment on those who murder Israelis in cold blood.
Ben Gvir did not mince words regarding the law’s fiercest opponents, singling out Ahmad Tibi, Mansour Abbas, and Ayman Odeh.
“To the leaders of the campaign against this law—terrorist supporters one and all—you have every reason to panic,” he said. “Your cultural heroes will soon face real justice.”
Members of the Otzma Yehudit faction arrived wearing pins symbolizing their commitment to the legislation. Ben Gvir framed the bill as a moral obligation to the Israeli public:
“This law is our promise to the families shattered by terror. Justice demands action against these cursed murderers.”
Ben Gvir also dismantled what he called the myth surrounding Government Decision 550, passed during the Bennett–Lapid–Abbas coalition. Marketed as a social-equity initiative for the Arab sector, the minister said the plan in reality became a financial pipeline to terrorism, organized crime, and hostile networks inside Israel—a fact now acknowledged by senior security officials.
He accused Mansour Abbas and his Islamist political partners of pressuring the previous government to channel billions into sectors riddled with extremist elements. As a corrective, Ben Gvir announced a major budgetary overhaul.
Working together with Minister for the Advancement of Women May Golan, he intends to redirect 2.5 billion shekels from the flawed program to Israel’s frontline security agencies—the Police, Shin Bet, and Prison Service.
“We are correcting the injustice created by the Bennett–Abbas government,” he said. “Money that strengthened criminal and terrorist elements will now strengthen Israeli security forces to defeat them.”
The message was unmistakable: Israel is entering an era where terrorists face the harshest consequences, and political parties linked to extremist agendas will no longer dictate national priorities or siphon taxpayer funds.
