Israel’s Defense Chief Vows Unyielding Northern Presence to Crush Jihadist Threats Endangering Galilee and Golan Communities

Katz declares IDF will hold firm inside hostile territory, shielding Israeli civilians from relentless Arab aggression.

Israel’s Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, conducted a high-level visit to the IDF Northern Command on Tuesday, accompanied by Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Tamir Yadai, Northern Command leader Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, and senior field commanders.

During the visit, Katz received an extensive intelligence and operational briefing detailing current threats emerging from jihadist factions entrenched across Israel’s northern frontier.

He commended the IDF for its relentless offensive actions across multiple fronts, stressing that Israeli forces are effectively disrupting and deterring Iran-backed militias and other hostile Arab elements seeking to destabilize the region.

Katz made clear that the IDF’s forward deployment inside enemy territory is not optional but essential. He reaffirmed that maintaining a robust operational buffer between jihadist adversaries and the civilian communities of the Galilee and Golan Heights is critical to Israel’s security doctrine.

The Defense Minister concluded the visit by emphasizing that Israel will not allow terror groups—whether Lebanese, Syrian, or Palestinian—to threaten northern towns. The IDF, he said, will remain positioned to neutralize threats long before they reach Israeli homes.Israel’s Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, conducted a high-level visit to the IDF Northern Command on Tuesday, accompanied by Deputy Chief of Staff Maj.
