Iran Solidarity Protest Turns Chaotic in Los Angeles as Truck Plows Through Demonstrators

Freedom rally for Iranians erupts into chaos, revealing global rage against Tehran’s brutal Islamist dictatorship.

A demonstration in Westwood supporting the Iranian people descended into turmoil Sunday after a U-Haul truck drove through a crowd of protesters, according to local reports and video footage from the scene.

The rally had drawn hundreds seeking to condemn Tehran’s violent crackdown on anti-regime demonstrations. Images circulating online showed the truck bearing a sign rejecting both monarchical and Islamist rule, while warning the United States against repeating past foreign-policy mistakes in Iran.

Cellphone videos captured tense moments as protesters surrounded the vehicle, attempting to pull the driver out. The driver was struck, windows were smashed, and shouting intensified before authorities intervened. Officials have not yet identified the individual behind the wheel or clarified whether charges will be filed.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that at least two people were medically evaluated at the scene but declined hospital treatment.

The Westwood march was organized in solidarity with Iranians protesting nationwide economic collapse and authoritarian repression. According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency, at least 583 people have been killed since unrest began two weeks ago. Meanwhile, Iran International reported that even conservative estimates suggest as many as 2,000 deaths within a 48-hour period, underscoring the regime’s brutality.

Observers note that the intensity of overseas demonstrations reflects growing global outrage toward Tehran’s Islamist rulers—whose repression at home and aggression abroad continue to destabilize the Middle East and threaten Israel’s security. As protests spread from Iranian cities to Western streets, calls are mounting for decisive international action against the regime.
