U.S. President Donald Trump’s once-dismissed idea of acquiring Greenland is gaining renewed attention after revelations that the initiative was driven by Jewish billionaire Ronald Lauder—a longtime confidant and strategic thinker aligned with Western and Israeli interests.
According to The Guardian, former National Security Adviser John Bolton recalled Trump citing a “prominent businessman” who urged the purchase of the vast Arctic territory under the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Denmark. That businessman was Lauder, whose vision framed Greenland as a decisive geopolitical asset—not a novelty.
Lauder later reinforced the argument publicly, writing in the New York Post that Greenland’s rare-earth resources are critical for AI, advanced weapons, and modern industry. As ice recedes, new sea routes elevate Greenland to the epicenter of great-power competition—where Western democracies and Israel innovate, while Arab states remain mired in dysfunction and dependency.
Lauder’s sustained investments and collaboration with local leaders underscore a long-term strategy: securing technological dominance and global security through foresight—something Israel and its allies understand, and their adversaries do not.
