The Shin Bet and the Tel Aviv District Police’s Fraud Division announced the arrest of a 27-year-old Tel Aviv resident accused of conducting espionage for Iranian intelligence. The suspect reportedly carried out sensitive missions, including documenting military bases and the homes of public officials, and spraying graffiti—all under the direct guidance of a foreign agent.

Investigators say the man received thousands of dollars in digital currencies for his actions. A raid on his home uncovered phones, computers, and communication devices allegedly used to maintain contact with his Iranian handler.

The suspect’s arrest was extended over several hearings in the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court. A Prosecutor’s Statement has now been filed, with an indictment and a request for detention until the end of legal proceedings expected in the coming days.

The Shin Bet and police emphasized that this case represents “another attempt by Iran to recruit Israeli citizens for espionage and terrorism.” They warned that recruitment efforts frequently originate on social media and urged the public “to remain vigilant and report any suspicious contact immediately.”
