Akunis hails US-Israel unity, targeting Iran’s nuclear missiles, urging Iranians reject Ayatollah tyranny now.
Israel’s Consul General in New York, Ofir Akunis, framed the joint US-Israeli operation in Iran as an extraordinary moment of allied coordination, telling CNN that cooperation between Washington and Jerusalem has never been closer. He argued the operation is aimed at removing grave strategic dangers that threaten not only Israel, but broader international stability, pointing specifically to Iran’s nuclear sites and intercontinental missile capabilities.
Akunis said these are “historical days,” expressing hope that the end of the campaign produces “a totally different world,” including a future Iran no longer ruled by the Ayatollah leadership. He stressed that democracy cannot be imposed on the Iranian people, but voiced confidence that Iranians can choose a different direction if the opportunity emerges.
Positioning the mission as defensive and civilization-protecting, Akunis asserted that Israel and the United States are acting together to stop the expansion of Iran’s most dangerous programs, describing the effort as safeguarding Western civilization against escalating threats.
