A satirical bronze statue depicting Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein holding hands has mysteriously appeared in Washington, reigniting debate over the late financier’s past ties to the former U.S. president.
Washington, D.C. — Visitors to the National Mall were startled this week by the sudden appearance of a bronze statue titled “Best Friends Forever”, depicting U.S. President Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier who died in prison in 2019 while facing federal sex-trafficking charges.
The life-sized artwork portrays the two men holding hands, with one leg playfully lifted in the air. A plaque beneath the installation reads: “In honour of friendship month, we celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his ‘closest friend’, Jeffrey Epstein.”
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the statue, but it follows a string of guerrilla art installations targeting Trump in Washington. In June, a separate work titled “Dictator Approved” appeared on the Mall, showing an eight-foot-tall golden thumbs-up crushing the Statue of Liberty’s head.
The White House dismissed the latest stunt. Spokesperson Abigail Jackson told The Washington Post that “liberals are free to waste their money however they see fit.” Jackson added: “It’s not news that Epstein knew Donald Trump, because Donald Trump kicked Epstein out of his club for being a creep.”
The satirical installation comes as Trump’s past social ties with Epstein continue to resurface in political debate and media coverage. Both men were photographed together in the 1990s and early 2000s, but Trump has repeatedly insisted he severed ties with Epstein long before the financier’s arrest.
