Yehoshua Shani, father of a fallen IDF hero and head of the Gevura Forum, implores Netanyahu to resist U.S. pressure, vowing that Israel must finish the mission—eradicate Hamas, secure Gaza, and bring every hostage home.
On the eve of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, a powerful appeal was issued by Yehoshua Shani, chairman of the Gevura Forum and father of fallen IDF Captain Uri Mordechai. In a heartfelt public video, Shani urged Netanyahu to stand firm and not halt the war until Israel’s core objectives are achieved.
“As reports grow of international pressure for far-reaching concessions, it is critical not to yield on Israel’s security,” Shani declared.
He reminded the Prime Minister of commitments made to bereaved families:
- The destruction of Hamas
- Israeli security control of Gaza
- The return of every hostage
Rejecting any alternative arrangements in Gaza, Shani warned against leaving Hamas intact or empowering the Palestinian Authority. “Mr. Prime Minister, you promised us—the bereaved parents of the Gevura Forum—that you would not stop the war until its objectives were achieved. Tomorrow you meet President Trump, who, according to rumors, may ask you to make concessions, even to leave Hamas in place or bring the Palestinian Authority instead,” he said.
His plea was laced with biblical weight: “The voice of your brothers’ blood cries out to you from the ground. Do not compromise on Israel’s security. Our sons fell to achieve these objectives—do not betray their sacrifice. All of Israel stands behind you. Be strong and courageous.”
The statement resonates as Netanyahu prepares for critical talks in New York, where the future of Gaza’s post-war governance may be on the table. For the families of Israel’s fallen, however, the message is unwavering: no half measures, no compromises, no survival for Hamas.
