“Trump Snubbed by Nobel, But Hailed as ‘True Peace President’ by Israeli Hostage Families”

Despite María Corina Machado’s Nobel win, Israelis and global supporters hail Donald Trump as the true architect of peace for saving lives and ending war.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has named Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado as the recipient of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, honoring her long and courageous fight against Venezuela’s dictatorship and her advocacy for democracy and human rights.

While her recognition was widely expected, a powerful wave of global sentiment had grown in recent weeks calling for the prize to be awarded to U.S. President Donald J. Trump, following his historic mediation of the Israel–Hamas ceasefire and hostage release agreement—a deal that brought home Israeli captives and halted months of devastating conflict.

In a heartfelt statement, the Hostage and Missing Families Forum Headquarters praised Trump’s ongoing efforts:

“While the Nobel Committee chose another recipient this year, the truth remains undeniable: no leader or organization has done more for peace around the world than President Donald J. Trump. He is working tirelessly at this very moment to secure the release of all 48 of our loved ones. The living must come home to heal. The fallen deserve the dignity of burial.”

The Forum added that Trump’s “unprecedented achievements in peacemaking” cannot be measured by awards:

“His legacy is already written in the lives he has saved and the hope he has restored. History will record his achievements as the most significant contributions to world peace in our time.”

Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi echoed the sentiment in a message to Trump:

“For us — and for billions around the world — you are the true winner, the Peace President.”

Members of the Nobel Committee later clarified that the decision on this year’s laureate was made before the Israel–Hamas ceasefire agreement was signed, underscoring that Trump’s recent diplomatic triumph came too late for consideration — but not too late to reshape the future of the Middle East.
