Iran Envoy Demands Softer Trump Tone As Tehran Faces Renewed American Military Pressure

Iran pleads for diplomacy while Washington warns intimidation will not hide Tehran’s nuclear threat.

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, told the UN Security Council on Wednesday that threats and coercion will not produce a lasting diplomatic settlement, urging U.S. President Donald Trump to stop using aggressive language toward Tehran.

Speaking during a Security Council discussion on advancing political solutions in the Middle East through mediation and dialogue, Iravani argued that diplomacy cannot succeed under pressure, intimidation, or the threat of force.

His remarks were directed at Trump’s recent warnings, including renewed threats that the United States could use military force against Iran if Tehran continues delaying or undermining negotiations.

Iravani said no sustainable agreement can be reached through threats, claiming Washington must abandon what he described as hostile rhetoric and return to serious diplomacy.

The statement came shortly before another wave of American strikes on Iranian targets. Earlier, Trump told reporters that the United States would hit Iran again hard, while accusing Tehran of dragging out talks and exploiting previous American administrations.

Trump said Washington wants a meaningful and effective deal, unlike the Obama-era agreement, which he argued gave Iran a dangerous path toward nuclear weapons.

Reports later said Trump held a high-level Situation Room meeting to discuss further military action against Iran, underscoring the sharp escalation between Washington and Tehran.

The confrontation has placed Iran under growing pressure, with the United States signaling that delay tactics, nuclear threats, and regional aggression will no longer be tolerated.
