Israeli singer David D’Or was attacked with red paint during a performance, turning a night of music into a moment of terror—but he continued singing, urging the audience to pray for Israel.
A concert by world-renowned Israeli singer David D’Or turned shocking on Sunday night when a pro-Palestinian activist hurled red paint at him and his musicians mid-performance.
D’Or, known for his soaring voice and message of unity, described the moment: “I was praying for a good year and peace in the world with my eyes closed, when suddenly I felt a cold splash. I opened my eyes and saw sharp red color—on my clothes, on my face, on the stage. The song list itself looked stained with blood.”
The surreal scene left audience members horrified, many bursting into tears as the red stains evoked memories of the October 7 massacre. Between songs like “Shema Yisrael” and “Shomer Et Ha’olam Yeled”, the stage appeared like a crime scene.
Despite the shock, D’Or steadied himself and called on the audience to close their eyes and pray for Israel. “My eyes filled with tears from the pain and sadness, but I knew I had to encourage them,” he said. The show ended with the crowd singing together, transformed from panic into strength.
The singer later thanked fans for their outpouring of love: “There is nothing better than our people. I am proud to be Israeli. I am proud to be Jewish. I will keep going wherever I am invited, using music to connect religions, generations, and opinions.”
D’Or revealed that his violinist initially feared the liquid was acid, underscoring the terror of the moment. “What terrible days. May God have mercy on us. We are all praying for better days. Amen.”
