At America’s delayed Independence Day celebration in Jerusalem, Donald Trump praised the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program, saluted US-Israeli military cooperation, and reminded the world he alone recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
In a blazing video address to the US Embassy’s celebration of 249 years of American independence in Jerusalem, President Donald Trump turned the spotlight on America’s latest military triumph — the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program during Operation Rising Lion.
The event, hosted at Jerusalem’s Museum of Tolerance after being postponed by the 12-day conflict, drew Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US Ambassador Mike Huckabee, and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, among others.
‘A Complete and Total Obliteration’
Trump wasted no time referencing the summer campaign:
“This event was postponed due to the 12-day war earlier this summer, which culminated in one of the most successful military operations in history, and the obliteration of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity. It was a complete and total obliteration.”
Tribute to US and Israeli Troops
He extended heartfelt thanks to American forces and their Israeli allies:
“I want to salute the incredible American service members who took part in Operation Midnight Hammer, as well as Prime Minister Netanyahu and our friends in the Israeli Defense Forces.”
Ambassador Huckabee and Jerusalem Recognition
The former president also singled out Ambassador Mike Huckabee, calling him:
“A wonderful friend, one of the first to endorse me, and a great leader of our diplomatic mission.”
Trump then revisited his landmark decision to move the US Embassy:
“Mike is skillfully leading the mission in Jerusalem, Israel’s one and only capital, which I was honored to formally recognize eight years ago. No other president wanted to do it — they just talked. But I did it.”
Blessing for America and Israel
He closed with a rousing message:
“I hope you all have a phenomenal evening, and we look forward to seeing you again next year as we celebrate 250 years of American freedom. God bless you all, and God bless the USA.”
