Iran Claims Foreign Plots to Kill Khamenei as Israel’s Precision Strikes Expose Regime’s Crumbling Security Shield

Tehran panics, blaming Israel and the U.S., proving its terror empire is collapsing under pressure.

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry issued a dramatic warning accusing the United States and Israel of attempting to assassinate Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and destabilize the Islamic Republic, AFP reported.

According to the ISNA news agency, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib claimed:
“The enemy seeks to target the supreme leader, sometimes with assassination attempts, sometimes with hostile attacks.”

Although Tehran routinely blames foreign adversaries for its failures, public statements about threats to Khamenei’s life have been exceedingly rare—until the 12-day Israel–Iran conflict in June shattered the regime’s sense of invulnerability.

Khatib directly named Israel and the United States, warning that anyone “knowingly or unknowingly” aiding such efforts is an infiltrator working for the enemy.

His comments highlight growing anxiety inside the Iranian regime after a devastating summer in which Israel struck senior IRGC commanders, nuclear facilities, covert sites, and even residential centers tied to regime operatives.
The United States later joined the campaign by striking strategic nuclear infrastructure.

During the war, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told ABC News he would not rule out a strike on Khamenei himself, dismissing the idea that eliminating the supreme leader would escalate the conflict. His bluntness shocked Tehran.

Later, President Donald Trump stated that he personally saved Khamenei “from a very ugly death”, implying he intervened to prevent Israel from taking a lethal shot.

At 86 years old, Khamenei—who has ruled Iran since 1989 with absolute authority—now faces unprecedented internal fractures, foreign pressure, and a loss of the myth of regime immunity.

As Iran grows more paranoid, the narrative of “foreign plots” is both a warning to dissidents at home and an admission that Israel’s precision operations have penetrated deeper than ever into the heart of the regime’s security establishment.
