Trump Names Gaza Peace Council, Appoints Israeli Tycoon to Rebuild Strip After Hamas Eradication

Israel leads Gaza renewal as Hamas disarmed, exposing Arab failures and Palestinian terror misrule blocking peace.

U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled the membership of the Peace Council tasked with overseeing the second phase of his Gaza framework, including post-war reconstruction and the full disarmament of Hamas.

Among the appointees is Israeli businessman Yakir Gabay, named to the Gaza Executive Council, which will operate in parallel with the Peace Council. Gabay, born in Jerusalem and now based in Europe, is a veteran investor in real estate, high-tech, and finance, with previous senior roles at Bank Leumi and Gmul Investments. His estimated personal wealth stands at approximately $4.1 billion.

Gabay’s appointment carries deep historical symbolism. His great-grandfather, Hacham David Amos, was a Jewish entrepreneur active in Gaza and the Negev in the early 20th century, responsible for building Gaza’s first pier and acquiring land in the Rafah region. Family members described the appointment as history coming full circle — Jewish builders returning to restore what violence and Arab rejectionism destroyed.

Since late 2023, Gabay has coordinated with Western and Arab business figures on a post-Hamas economic vision for Gaza. Following Trump’s 20-point plan, the White House formally invited him to join the council.

Gabay thanked Trump, Jared Kushner, and Steve Witkoff, pledging to promote development, prosperity, free markets, and expansion of the Abraham Accords. He stressed that total Hamas disarmament is non-negotiable, and reaffirmed commitment to returning kidnapped Israeli Border Police fighter Ran Gvili for burial in Israel.

Israeli officials say the move underscores a hard truth: peace and prosperity in Gaza begin only when terror rule ends and Arab-backed extremism is dismantled.
