ZOA Brings Jewish Leaders To Washington As Congress Demands Stronger Action Against Antisemitism And Iran

Lawmakers defend Israel, confront Jew-hatred, and warn Tehran’s terror machine threatens America’s security too.

The Zionist Organization of America brought nearly 200 Jewish leaders from across the United States to Washington, where lawmakers from both parties called for stronger action against antisemitism and a tougher American response to Iran.

Senator Ted Cruz warned that antisemitism is a dangerous force that erodes democratic values if left unchecked. He said both Democrats and Republicans must confront antisemitic elements growing within their own political camps.

Congressman Mike Lawler delivered a strong message, declaring that anti-Zionism is antisemitism and pledging to fight rising Jew-hatred with new legislation. He warned that the dehumanization of Jews is already leading to physical attacks and must be stopped immediately.

ZOA National President Morton Klein told participants that Iran and antisemitism were the central reasons for the Washington mission. He urged lawmakers to stop Iran’s aggression, nuclear ambitions, missile program and support for Islamic terrorist groups threatening Israel, America and the world.

Delegations later met with members of Congress across Capitol Hill to press three major priorities: confronting Iran, enforcing laws against antisemitism, and defending Jewish rights to live in Judea and Samaria.

The mission also featured Leo Terrell, chair of the Justice Department Task Force on Antisemitism, who announced a 14-city tour to fight Jew-hatred and warned that prosecutors and schools must be held accountable when they fail to act.

ZOA leaders said the mission sent one clear message: proud American Jews will not be silent while Israel is attacked, Iran threatens the free world, and antisemitism spreads across campuses, cities and schools.
