The Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra has commenced in Puri, India.

Millions and Millions of devotees in India, gathered to partake in this grand celebration, seeking blessings from Lord Jagannath, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu,.

The famous festival, usually celebrated in June-July, begins when Lord Jagannath and his two siblings – elder brother Lord Balabhadra and younger sister Devi Subhadra are ready to make divine appearance for the people in the Chariots and visit their birthplace, Gundicha Temple.

The Hindu scriptures assign great religious and spiritual significance to this day. Lord Jagannath emerges from the sanctorum in a chariot to bless the devotees participating in the Rath Yatra, allowing them to glimpse the Lord.He bestows worldly pleasures and spiritual enlightenment upon them.

As per the Bamadev Scripture, devotees who have a glimpse of the Lord Jagannatha, Lord Sudarshan, Balabhadra, and Subhadra at the Gundicha temple for seven long days attain salvation and directly go to the adobe of lord, Vaikuntha Dham.

Other significant events include Surya Puja (Sun worship), Dwarapala Puja (Guard Worship), and Besha Sesha (completion of decorative costume for Lord Jagannath).
