Nvidia Eyes Multi-Billion Shekel R&D Campus in Northern Israel – The multi-billion shekel project is expected to accommodate thousands of new employees, signaling Nvidia’s strategic commitment to Israel’s North as a major innovation hub.
Nvidia Eyes Major Expansion in Northern Israel with Landmark R&D Campus
Global tech leader Nvidia has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to acquire 70–120 dunams of land in northern Israel for a massive R&D campus, Globes reported Sunday. The planned facility could span 80,000–180,000 square meters, making it one of the largest real estate moves ever by a foreign tech firm in Israel.
Targeting a strategic area between Zichron Yaakov, Migdal Ha’emek, Kiryat Ata, and Haifa, Nvidia seeks land with high transport accessibility, ideally near Highway 6, national rail lines, or other major infrastructure.
The company is reportedly prepared to invest up to 500 million shekels in land and another 1.5 billion shekels in construction. The new campus is expected to house several thousand employees, bolstering Nvidia’s current Israeli workforce of around 5,000—much of it inherited through the 2020 acquisition of Mellanox.
Nvidia’s expansion may involve rezoning agricultural land in collaboration with kibbutzim or moshavim in the region. The move follows the company’s January announcement of a new research and engineering data center in Israel.
Nvidia has not commented publicly on the RFI.
Nvidia Expands Deep Roots in Israel with Landmark Data Center and Strategic Acquisitions
Nvidia is significantly deepening its presence in Israel with plans to establish a cutting-edge data center lab spanning 10,000 square meters and valued at roughly $500 million—set to become one of the most advanced facilities of its kind in the country.
This move follows Nvidia’s recent acquisition of Israeli startup Run:ai, whose proprietary software optimizes AI computing performance—further enhancing Nvidia’s edge in intelligent hardware infrastructure.
Together with its RFI for a massive R&D campus in northern Israel and its 2020 acquisition of Mellanox, these developments mark Nvidia’s growing strategic commitment to Israel as a global innovation hub.
