The IDF and ISA confirmed the targeted killing of Muhammad Nasr Ali Quneita, a Hamas operative involved in the October 7 atrocities and the kidnapping of Emily Damari. Israel’s military vows continued pursuit of those behind the brutal attack.
In a resolute operation carried out on June 19, 2025, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) eliminated Hamas terrorist Muhammad Nasr Ali Quneita in the Gaza City area, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit announced Monday afternoon.
Quneita was a senior figure in Hamas’ Al-Furqan Battalions’ military intelligence network and played a direct role in the October 7th massacre. According to the IDF, he crossed into Israeli territory during the attack and abducted 9-year-old Emily Damari, holding her hostage in his home at the onset of the war.
Emily, taken from her home in Kfar Aza, was brutally injured in the attack—shot in the hand and left with two fingers amputated. Her dog, a symbol of comfort and safety, was also shot and killed during the abduction.
“This is part of a continued campaign to deliver justice,” the IDF stated. “The IDF and ISA will relentlessly pursue and eliminate all terrorists involved in the October 7th massacre.”
Quneita’s death marks a significant milestone in Israel’s counter-terrorism efforts but also underscores the harrowing human toll of that day. The operation sends a clear message: those who participated in the atrocities will be held accountable—wherever they are found, and however long it takes.
