Meteorologists warn of extreme heat stress across Israel, with temperatures peaking at 46°C in Eilat and no relief expected until late in the week.
Israel is in the grip of an intense and dangerous heatwave that will persist through at least Tuesday, forecasters warn, with record-breaking temperatures and severe heat stress expected nationwide.
Monday will bring even higher temperatures than the weekend, with scorching heat in the mountains and inland regions and oppressive humidity along the coast. Localized rainfall is possible in the afternoon — particularly in southern Israel — echoing Sunday’s surprise showers in central parts of the country.
