A staggering 250+ terrorist incidents targeting Jewish drivers have been recorded in just three years along Route 60, near an Arab school in Louban close to the Jewish town of Eli. MK Tzvi Succot calls for the school’s demolition, labeling it a hub for violence and a direct threat to Israeli lives.
ROUTE 60, JUDEA & SAMARIA — New data released Friday by the Binyamin Regional Council’s security hotline reveals that in the past three years alone, over 250 rock-throwing and violent incidents have occurred against Jewish motorists on Route 60, in the vicinity of an Arab school near the village of Louban and the town of Eli.
MK Tzvi Succot, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee for Judea and Samaria Affairs, toured the area this week alongside Eli’s town security coordinator, Zvi Shor, to assess the ongoing security threat.
“Epicenter for Constant Violence”
During the visit, Succot described the alarming reality:
“We saw with our own eyes the unimaginable proximity between this ‘school of terror’ and Judea and Samaria’s main traffic artery. This is an epicenter for constant violence — 250 rock attacks in just a few years — all within striking distance of every Jewish driver who passes here. There is no rational explanation for allowing such a structure to remain.”
The MK stressed that the school’s location enables rapid, unimpeded access for students to reach the roadside in seconds, posing a constant threat to human life.
“Remove the Threat From the Root”
Succot rejected partial security measures:
“Even our dedicated military forces can’t be everywhere, 24/7. It’s our responsibility to remove the threat entirely — not just delay it with fences or temporary barriers. The demolition of this building will send an unequivocal message to terrorists across Judea and Samaria: the blood of Israeli civilians is not forfeit.”
He thanked Eli town secretary Avidan Beit Ya’akov, security coordinator Zvi Shor, and residents’ board representative Ori Aziza for bringing the issue to his attention, promising that a solution will be announced soon with the aim of demolishing the building.
Security Implications
Route 60 is one of the most vital and heavily traveled highways in Judea and Samaria, linking Jerusalem with the northern Samaria region. Israeli officials warn that unchecked attacks along this stretch not only endanger lives but also threaten the security stability of the region.
With more than 250 recorded assaults — many targeting civilians with rocks at high speeds — local leaders say decisive action is overdue.
