Mystery Blasts Rock Yemen’s Capital — Israeli Strike Suspected Near Sanaa Power Station

Massive explosions jolted Sanaa early Sunday, with Houthi officials blaming Israel for targeting power infrastructure — though Jerusalem remains silent.

Powerful explosions echoed across Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, in the early hours of Sunday morning, rattling the city near a major power station.

The cause of the blasts remains unclear, but one regional report suggested they may have been the result of an Israeli strike — part of Jerusalem’s broader campaign to disrupt Iran-backed Houthi operations.

Hezam Al-Assad, a senior member of the Houthi political bureau, immediately accused Israel of deliberately targeting “civilian infrastructure — electricity and water.” He condemned the strike on social media, branding it an attack on essential services.

Meanwhile, Mishaal Al-Rifi, CEO of Yemen’s Electricity Company, confirmed that power stations were hit, causing a temporary blackout across parts of the capital before service was restored.

As of now, Israel has not commented on the reports, leaving the situation shrouded in uncertainty — but the timing and target hint at a potential escalation in the shadow war playing out across the Middle East.
