Israeli police launch investigation after two bodies were discovered in a charred vehicle near Kafr Qassem; forensic experts are examining the remains.
Israeli police opened an investigation on Sunday morning after two men were found dead in a burnt vehicle near Kafr Qassem overnight, in what investigators believe was a criminally motivated incident.
Emergency responders from Magen David Adom (MDA) rushed to the scene but could only pronounce the victims dead. Human bones were recovered from the vehicle and transferred to the Israel Institute for Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv for identification and examination.
MDA EMTs Ronald Kayakov and Carmel Shapira, who were first on the scene, described the harrowing discovery:
“We arrived at the field and saw a private vehicle engulfed in flames. After rapid firefighting efforts, the two victims were found inside. Sadly, after examination, we had nothing left to do but to pronounce them dead.”
Police have yet to confirm the identities of the victims and are exploring possible links to organized crime, a recurring issue in Arab towns across Israel.
