IDF Cancels Gaza Humanitarian Pauses as Fighting Expands to Central Camps and Gaza City

The Israeli military announced it is scrapping daily humanitarian pauses in Gaza City as combat intensifies, while vowing to press forward with operations against terror groups.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declared on Friday that it is cancelling daily humanitarian tactical pauses in Gaza, citing preparations to broaden combat operations in the central refugee camps and Gaza City.

In an official statement, the IDF said:

“In accordance with the situational assessment and directives from the political echelon, starting today (Friday) at 10:00, the local tactical pause in military activity will no longer apply to the Gaza City area, which constitutes a dangerous combat zone.”

The move signals Israel’s determination to intensify its offensive push in one of Hamas’s last major strongholds, while maintaining that humanitarian channels will remain open elsewhere.

The army stressed it will continue to facilitate humanitarian aid deliveries in coordination with international organizations, even as maneuvering and offensive operations against terror networks press ahead.

The announcement highlights the delicate balance Israel is striking—pushing forward militarily while facing growing international scrutiny over humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
