At a festive gathering in Samaria, Regional Council Governor Yossi Dagan granted US Ambassador Mike Huckabee honorary citizenship — the first American ambassador to receive such recognition. Hundreds of leaders and residents gathered in Samaria for a festive toast event, where Samaria Regional Council Governor Yossi Dagan awarded US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee an honorary citizenship certificate — a historic first.
Dagan called Huckabee “our brother,” stressing that the honor was more than symbolic:
“This certificate is not just a piece of paper but a symbol of unity. Building up the Land of the Bible and applying sovereignty across all of Judea and Samaria is not only historical justice but also of strategic importance for Israel, the United States, and the free world.”
Invoking the promise to Abraham, Dagan blessed Huckabee and President Donald Trump:
“Those who bless the people of Israel will themselves be blessed. Since Ambassador Huckabee blesses Israel, he too will be blessed by God.”
Huckabee: Judea and Samaria Is the Biblical Heartland
Accepting the honor, Huckabee thanked Dagan — whom he described as a “longtime friend with courage and vision.” He praised the council’s initiative to use the authentic Biblical terms Judea and Samaria:
“Eighty percent of the Bible focuses on Judea and Samaria. Many people don’t realize this. We must use the ancient language that has existed here for thousands of years.”
Huckabee also saluted the residents:
“I understand the sacrifices you make to live in Samaria. It requires immense dedication. Some may not understand your choice, but I cannot see why anyone wouldn’t want to live here. You are returning home to Samaria.”
