Netanyahu Honors Haredi Hero Who Stopped Jerusalem Terror Attack: “You Saved Many Lives”

Prime Minister Netanyahu praised Sergeant S. of the Hasmonean Brigade for eliminating two terrorists at Ramot Junction, preventing a mass-casualty massacre.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in his office with Sergeant S., a fighter from the haredi Hasmonean Brigade, and his fiancée, to personally commend him for his heroic actions in stopping last week’s terror attack at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem.

Sergeant S. acted decisively during the murderous assault, swiftly eliminating the two terrorists and preventing what security officials say could have been a far greater tragedy.

“You did a great thing and saved many people,” Netanyahu told him. “I want to thank you on behalf of the **government of Israel, the State of Israel, and the people of Israel. Congratulations—you prevented a much greater disaster.”

Despite his bravery, six innocent Israelis were murdered in the attack:

  • Levi Yitzhak Pash (57)
  • Yaakov Pinto (25)
  • Yisrael Matsner (28)
  • Yosef David (43)
  • Dr. Mordechai Steintzag (79)
  • Sarah Mendelson (60)

Their memory was honored at the meeting, alongside recognition of the soldier’s courage that stopped the bloodshed from spiraling further.

The attack underscores both the relentless threat of Palestinian terror and the lifesaving importance of courageous IDF soldiers who act without hesitation to protect Israeli lives.
