On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on Jews worldwide to stand strong against rising antisemitism, promising that Israel remains their eternal home and vowing to bring hostages back soon.
From Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal undivided capital, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a heartfelt message to Jews worldwide as the Jewish New Year began on Monday night.
“Dear Jewish brothers and sisters, dear supporters of Israel around the world,” Netanyahu opened, extending greetings on behalf of himself, his wife, and the Israeli government.
In his remarks, the prime minister stressed that antisemitism is surging globally but reassured world Jewry:
“I say to every Jew, wherever you may be, you are not alone. Israel will always be your home.”
Netanyahu highlighted the courage of the IDF and the unity of the Jewish people:
“On your behalf, I say to our brave soldiers—you are the shield of our nation. The people of Israel and the Jewish people everywhere stand behind you, cherish your service and embrace you and your families.”
Looking ahead, he pledged that the coming year would be one of security, economic growth, social resilience, and fidelity to Jewish values. He also voiced a prayer that all Israeli hostages held by Hamas would soon return home.
Closing his address, Netanyahu affirmed Israel’s role as the heart of the Jewish world:
“From Jerusalem, the undivided eternal capital of the Jewish people, I send to every Jewish home in the world the blessings of a Happy New Year. Shanah Tova.”
The message served as both a holiday blessing and a declaration of Jewish unity, reminding world Jewry that in times of trial and triumph alike, Israel stands as their refuge, their shield, and their destiny.
