UN Turns Rosh Hashanah into a Stage for Anti-Israel Hypocrisy

On Judaism’s holiest day, the UN exposed its bias by silencing Israel’s voice while dictators and terror-sponsors lectured on morality.

The United Nations once again revealed its hostility toward Israel by scheduling an “emergency” meeting on Gaza for Tuesday — the very day of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

This cynical move meant Israeli diplomats and Jewish UN staff could not attend one of the most consequential discussions about Israel, since the meeting overlapped with one of Judaism’s holiest days. Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon appealed for a rescheduling, but his request was deliberately ignored. The symbolism is stark: an institution obsessed with condemning Israel chose to do so precisely when Jews could not even be present to defend themselves — on the Jewish “Day of Judgment.”

From the podium, UN Secretary-General António Guterres accused Israel of “collective punishment” in Gaza, but never mentioned the atrocities of October 7, 2023 — when Hamas slaughtered 1,200 Israelis, kidnapped 250 hostages, and vowed to repeat such horrors “again and again.” Guterres ignored the fact that military experts, including former NATO commanders, have praised Israel for maintaining an unprecedented combatant-to-civilian casualty ratio of roughly 1-to-1 in the most complex urban warfare on Earth. Hamas fires rockets from hospitals, schools, and mosques, yet the UN singles out Israel for censure, recycling propaganda while whitewashing terror.

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani accused Israel of “treachery” while omitting that Doha bankrolls Hamas, shelters its leadership in five-star hotels, and funds Al Jazeera’s propaganda machine. If Qatar wanted hostages released, it could end Hamas’ reign tomorrow — but it chooses not to, because it is not a mediator but a sponsor of jihad.

French President Emmanuel Macron declared, “Nothing justifies the ongoing war in Gaza.” In effect, Macron gave Hamas a blank check for terrorism, stripping Israel of its right to self-defense in pursuit of Muslim votes at home. Mahmoud Abbas postured about “peace” while his Palestinian Authority continues its “pay-to-slay” program, rewarding terrorists who murder Jews. Jordan’s King Abdullah II called Gaza the UN’s “darkest moment,” erasing Rwanda, Cambodia, and Darfur — a grotesque insult to millions slaughtered in genocides the UN ignored.

Turkey’s President Erdoğan, who jails journalists and bombs Kurdish civilians, smeared Israel with “genocide” claims while praising Hamas as “defenders.” Brazil’s Lula da Silva claimed Palestinians are “disappearing” — despite their population growth and repeated rejection of statehood since 1947. Iran’s President Pezeshkian brandished propaganda booklets while his regime arms every terror group from Hamas to Hezbollah and lies to the world about nuclear weapons.

Amid this flood of hypocrisy, two leaders stood apart. Indonesia’s president — from a Muslim-majority nation with no ties to Israel — acknowledged Israel’s right to security and even closed his speech with “Shalom.” And then came U.S. President Donald Trump. With his teleprompter broken but his clarity intact, Trump declared: “I’m on the side of Israel. I’ve been on the side of Israel my whole life.” He condemned the recognition of Palestinian statehood as “ransom to Hamas” and reminded the assembly of the massacre of October 7 — a truth conspicuously absent from most speeches.

The United Nations, founded to prevent genocide, now serves as a platform for those who enable it. It churns out resolutions against Israel while ignoring Syria, Iran, and North Korea. It parrots Hamas talking points while silencing Jewish voices — literally scheduling condemnation of Israel on the Jewish New Year.

The name “United Nations” flatters it. In reality, it has become the United Nations of Jew-Haters.
