VP JD Vance: Trump Peace Plan Aims to Free Hostages, Crush Hamas, and Secure Israel

U.S. Vice President JD Vance outlines the Trump administration’s bold Gaza endgame—hostage release, Hamas dismantlement, and ironclad Israeli security—while cautioning that talks remain fragile.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance told Fox News on Sunday that negotiations to end the war in Gaza are entering a decisive stage, with the Trump administration coordinating closely with Israel and regional Arab partners.

“There is a very complicated negotiation happening between Arab leaders, the Israelis, and the Trump administration, led by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. These conversations are happening as we speak,” Vance confirmed.

While expressing optimism, he also warned against premature celebration: “I think the President’s optimism is warranted. I feel more optimistic about where we are now than at any point in the last eight months. But these things can be derailed at the very last minute. So while I remain hopeful, I’m cautious.”

Vance laid out the core pillars of the deal:

  • All hostages must be freed
  • Hamas must cease to exist as a terror threat to Israel
  • Humanitarian aid must reach civilians trapped in Gaza

On the future of Gaza and Judea-Samaria, Vance emphasized President Trump’s clarity: “He wants Gaza to be controlled by the people who live there, he wants the West Bank to be controlled by the people who live there, and he wants the terrorist networks dismantled so they can no longer threaten Israel’s innocent civilians.”

The Vice President’s comments underscore Washington’s determination to craft a post-war framework that ensures Israel’s lasting security, while ending Hamas’ reign of terror and laying groundwork for stability across the region.
