Iran Boasts of Backing Hezbollah: “All Forms of Support” Pledged to Terror Proxy in Lebanon

Senior Iranian official Ali Larijani openly vows Tehran’s full backing of Hezbollah in Lebanon, underscoring Iran’s hand in regional terror as Netanyahu presses for security pacts to counter the threat.

Iran has once again flaunted its sponsorship of Hezbollah, with senior regime figure Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, pledging that Tehran stands ready to assist Lebanon’s “resistance movement” “at all levels.”

Larijani made the remarks Sunday in Beirut during a meeting with Hezbollah deputy leader Naim Qassem, according to reports from Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency and China’s Xinhua.

“Iran is present in all forms of support for Lebanon and its resistance,” Larijani declared—an unmistakable signal of Tehran’s role as chief patron of the terror group that has fired thousands of rockets at Israeli civilians.

Qassem in turn lauded Iran’s ongoing financial, military, and political aid, insisting Hezbollah would remain “steadfast against U.S. and Israeli threats” while posturing as “open to dialogue with those confronting Israel.”

Larijani also met Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Saturday. His visit comes as Iran works to tighten its grip on Lebanon through Hezbollah, which Western governments, including the United States and European Union, designate as a terrorist organization.

A report last year exposed how Iran has been exploiting European ports as cover for weapons shipments destined for Hezbollah in Lebanon—further evidence of Tehran’s global terror network.

This renewed pledge of support underscores the strategic urgency of Israel’s security doctrine: Hezbollah is not a “resistance movement,” but Iran’s foreign legion, deployed on Israel’s northern border to destabilize Lebanon and wage war against the Jewish state.
