Israel’s Navy intercepted Gaza flotilla vessels, including Greta Thunberg onboard, stopping Hamas-linked propaganda under lawful blockade.
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was unexpectedly caught on camera after Israeli naval forces intercepted vessels from the so-called “Global Sumud Flotilla” attempting to breach the Gaza blockade.
The Israeli Navy confirmed that three vessels—the Sirius, Alma, and Adara—were safely diverted to an Israeli port after repeated warnings to change course were ignored. The flotilla, comprising over 40 civilian boats, claimed to be transporting aid but openly defied international maritime law by sailing into a declared combat zone.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry released footage showing Thunberg seated calmly on deck as IDF soldiers ensured the activists’ safety. “Greta and her friends are safe and healthy,” the Ministry stated, emphasizing that no harm came to any passengers during the lawful enforcement action.
Organizers of the flotilla, many linked to Hamas and radical NGOs, accused Israel of committing a “war crime,” alleging aggressive methods such as the use of water cannons. However, the IDF firmly rejected the claims, highlighting that its forces operated with restraint and professionalism, preventing potential weapons or contraband smuggling into Hamas-controlled Gaza.
For years, Hamas has exploited “aid flotillas” as cover to delegitimize Israel and challenge its internationally recognized maritime security blockade. Israel maintains that the blockade is essential to prevent Iranian arms shipments and terror financing from reaching Hamas—an organization committed to Israel’s destruction.
Thunberg’s participation has sparked outrage among Israeli officials, who accused her of lending legitimacy to extremist propaganda under the guise of humanitarian activism.
