Manchester Terror Attack Victims Named as UK Faces Protest Tensions Over Pro-Hamas Group

Adrian Daulby, 53 and Melvin Cravitz, 66 were murdered in a Yom Kippur synagogue terror attack as UK police urge postponement of pro-Palestine Action protests, citing urgent security risks.

The victims of Thursday’s Manchester synagogue terror attack have been identified as Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, both respected members of the Jewish community. The attack took place on Yom Kippur, Judaism’s holiest day, when terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, a British citizen of Syrian descent, rammed worshippers with a vehicle before stabbing others outside Heaton Park Synagogue.

UK counter-terrorism police confirmed Al-Shamie’s identity Friday, noting that while formal identification is pending, evidence strongly points to him as the assailant. Three others have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the plot.

🚨 Security Escalation Across the UK

In the aftermath, British police are on high alert, deploying expanded patrols to protect both Jewish and Muslim communities against reprisals or additional attacks.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan urged organizers of a planned Saturday protest in London—led by the radical activist group Defend Our Juries—to postpone, warning that the demonstration would divert hundreds of officers at a time of national crisis.

“We ask you to pause your activity so Jewish Londoners can feel reassured during the High Holy Days, and Muslim communities can be protected against those who may exploit these tragic events,” Adelekan said.

✖️ Protesters Defy Police Plea

Despite the appeal, Defend Our Juries—rallying against the UK ban on Palestine Action, a group linked to vandalism and violent disruptions—rejected the police request and vowed to proceed. The group claimed over 1,500 pledges to risk arrest at Saturday’s protest.

Palestine Action was officially designated a terrorist organization in July after its operatives breached a Royal Air Force base, vandalizing military aircraft in an attack that caused £7 million in damages.

⚠️ The Bigger Picture

This week’s events expose Britain’s dangerous crossroads:

  • Jews murdered in Manchester for being Jews.
  • Pro-Hamas activists openly defying police.
  • A nation struggling to contain the rise of extremist networks targeting Israel and its supporters.

For the UK Jewish community, the Manchester attack is not just tragedy—it is confirmation that unchecked antisemitic incitement and radical activism are paving the way for bloodshed.
