President Trump urges Hamas to finalize the Gaza peace deal quickly, warning delays could unleash “massive bloodshed” amid breakthrough talks.
Trump Issues Stark Warning to Hamas Ahead of Cairo Negotiations
US President Donald Trump issued a blunt ultimatum to Hamas on Sunday night, warning that “time is of the essence — or massive bloodshed will follow” if the terror group delays implementation of his Gaza peace and hostage release plan.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced that technical teams from Israel and Hamas will reconvene Monday in Egypt to finalize the deal’s first phase — the release of all hostages and an immediate ceasefire.
“There have been very positive discussions with Hamas, and countries from all over the world — Arab, Muslim, and everyone else — this weekend, to release the hostages, end the war in Gaza, but, more importantly, finally have long-sought PEACE in the Middle East,” Trump wrote.
“These talks have been very successful and are proceeding rapidly. The technical teams will again meet Monday in Egypt to work through and clarify the final details. I am told that the first phase should be completed this week, and I am asking everyone to MOVE FAST.”
He concluded with a stark warning:
“TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE OR MASSIVE BLOODSHED WILL FOLLOW — SOMETHING THAT NOBODY WANTS TO SEE!”
Israel and Hamas Delegations Arrive in Egypt
The Israeli delegation, led by Minister Ron Dermer and senior officials from the Mossad, Shin Bet, and IDF, arrived in Sharm el-Sheikh Sunday evening. Simultaneously, a Hamas delegation headed by Khalil al-Hayya landed in Cairo to participate in what Trump has called “the most consequential Middle East talks in decades.”
Trump’s warning follows his Saturday statement threatening “complete obliteration” of Hamas if it refuses to disarm and surrender Gaza.
“Complete Obliteration!” Trump wrote in a text message to CNN’s Jake Tapper when asked about potential consequences for Hamas’s rejection.
Despite the threats, the US President maintained a tone of cautious optimism, calling Hamas’s preliminary response to his proposal “positive” and describing Friday’s diplomatic progress as “a big day” and “unprecedented.”
The Trump Peace Blueprint: A New Middle East Vision
Under Trump’s 20-point peace framework, Hamas must:
- Release all Israeli hostages (living and deceased) within 72 hours of signing;
- Accept phased Israeli withdrawal from non-strategic zones of Gaza;
- Allow Gaza’s demilitarization and transition to an Arab-administered technocratic authority;
- Submit to regional oversight involving Egypt, Jordan, and Gulf nations.
In exchange, Israel and its allies would facilitate massive humanitarian reconstruction in Gaza and formal Arab normalization with Israel.
Analysis: Trump’s Decisive Diplomacy Shifts Global Momentum
Trump’s latest message underscores his personal command over the peace process, leveraging both diplomacy and deterrence. Analysts note that by coupling threats of overwhelming military response with a fast-moving diplomatic framework, Trump has put Hamas and its backers under unprecedented pressure.
A senior Israeli official told Arutz Sheva:
“Trump has made it clear — there is no middle ground. Either Hamas releases the hostages and surrenders power, or it faces total annihilation.”
The Cairo talks are expected to determine whether the Trump Peace Doctrine becomes the first plan in decades to simultaneously secure Israeli victory, regional stability, and humanitarian relief.Trump Issues Stark Warning to Hamas Ahead of Cairo Negotiations
