Trump’s Peace Gambit: Global Leaders to Gather in Egypt for Gaza Reconstruction Summit

In a bold diplomatic push, President Trump convenes world leaders in Egypt to secure global backing for his Gaza peace blueprint.

US President Donald Trump is set to host a historic peace summit in Egypt, bringing together an unprecedented coalition of global leaders to finalize the Gaza post-war framework — a plan hailed as the most ambitious diplomatic effort in the Middle East since the Abraham Accords.

According to Axios, the summit, organized by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, will convene in Sharm el-Sheikh, gathering senior representatives and foreign ministers from Germany, France, the U.K., Italy, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Indonesia. The goal: to cement international support for Trump’s Gaza Peace Initiative, which aims to stabilize the region after Hamas’ military defeat.

Trump’s presence marks a new phase in his hands-on Middle East diplomacy. The White House has confirmed his attendance, though it has not disclosed the full agenda. Sources say the summit will focus on three pillars:

  1. Security & Counterterrorism Guarantees for post-Hamas Gaza.
  2. Humanitarian & Reconstruction Commitments coordinated through Egypt and the Gulf.
  3. Framework for Transitional Governance, ensuring no return of Hamas influence.

President Trump is expected to arrive in Israel on Monday morning, addressing the Knesset and meeting with families of hostages rescued or still missing. His speech will reportedly underscore America’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security and to ensuring Gaza never again becomes a terrorist stronghold.

After the Jerusalem visit, Trump will fly to Cairo, joining President Sisi for a signing ceremony with the key guarantors of the Gaza deal — Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. The summit may then shift to Sharm el-Sheikh for plenary sessions involving global participants.

While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not expected to attend this particular summit, Israeli officials are closely coordinating with US and Egyptian envoys. A senior Israeli diplomat noted, “Israel’s red lines — the demilitarization of Gaza, control over reconstruction funds, and security guarantees — remain non-negotiable.”

Analysts view the summit as a potential turning point. “Trump is reshaping the geopolitical chessboard,” said one Middle East expert. “By bringing rivals like Qatar and Saudi Arabia to the same table, he’s forcing a new era of accountability — one where peace is anchored in strength, not slogans.”

The initiative comes amid growing recognition that Hamas’ defeat opened a window for real peace, but only if regional powers cooperate under firm US leadership. Trump’s approach contrasts sharply with past diplomatic stagnation — blending strategic realism with moral clarity on Israel’s right to defend itself.

As preparations intensify, one message resonates from Washington to Jerusalem: Peace through strength — and justice for Israel’s victims.
